Dua and reliance on Allah

Draft with its sources, awaiting scholarly reviewUpdated 26 October 2026Our sources

Dua is a direct connection with Allah, and reliance is trust in His care after taking the means. In the Haram there are moments when a Muslim hopes to be answered, so prepare your heart and your duas from now. Read each text slowly, look up its explanation in a trusted tafsir such as Ibn Kathir or al-Sa‘di, then choose at least one practical step.

Dua and its manners

﴿وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ﴾“And when My servants ask you about Me, indeed I am near.”

al-Baqarah 2:186 · translation of the meaning · Quran.com

Practical step: Look for a time when duas are answered: between the adhan and the iqamah, or the last part of the night.

Reliance on Allah and thinking well of Him

﴿وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى اللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسْبُهُ﴾“And whoever relies on Allah, He is sufficient for him.”

al-Talaq 65:3 · translation of the meaning · Quran.com

Practical step: Write down one thing that worries you about your journey, hand it over to Allah in dua, then take the practical steps.

Your personal dua list

﴿ادْعُونِي أَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ﴾“Call upon Me; I will respond to you.”

Ghafir 40:60 · translation of the meaning · Quran.com

Practical step: Complete your “My duas for Makkah” list on the duas page.
